6th Annual Dog Island Run!

The 6th Annual Dog Island Run was the largest turnout ever for the Dog Island Run. There were 195 total participants! The field was divided about 50-50 . . . about 1/2 the participants did the run and the other 1/2 did the 2 mile walk.

The participants came from all over the place! There were 37 Washington state cities represented, as well as 4 out-of-state participants (2 from Idaho and 2 from Illinois who came exclusively for the Dog Island Run!).

As a result of this great turnout, we earned approximately $2,700 for the library fund.

Next year's 7th Annual Dog Island Run is scheduled for 10:45 am on Saturday, June 5, 2004. Mark your calendars!

Jacob Lyons (shown here with Tim Wittman) lives with his family on Section Ave, next to Gwost's place.

We gave him a 1st place award because he spontaneously decided to run the 2 mile walk course, and ended up running the distance in 14:21!

He basically ran 7 minute miles which for a 10 year old is outstanding! What's even more impressive is that he ran the 2 miles in Sandals!
